About Relustt

Relustt is an iPhone app that helps men quit porn. It combines an on-device content blocker, a Panic Button for the moment an urge hits, a streak and urge tracker, and a 20-lesson course on how the habit forms and how it comes undone.

Why it exists

Most men who want to quit have already tried. They've deleted the apps, cleared the history, promised themselves "this time." Then a bad night at 1am undoes a month of effort, and the conclusion they draw is that something is wrong with them.

Nothing is wrong with them. The plan was wrong.

Almost every failed attempt runs on willpower alone, and willpower is a resource that's empty at exactly the hour the urge shows up. Relustt was built on a different premise: make the decision in advance, so 1am isn't a decision at all. That's what the blocker is for. Everything else in the app exists to handle what's left once the easy path is closed.

What we believe

Shame doesn't work. It's the fuel for the binge-relapse cycle, not the cure for it. Nothing we write is designed to make you feel worse about yourself, because men who feel worse relapse more.

Mechanism beats motivation. Understanding why the urge exists does more than a hundred motivational videos. That's why there's a course in the app and why this blog explains how things work instead of shouting at you.

Privacy isn't a feature, it's a requirement. The blocker runs entirely on your device. Your browsing doesn't route through our servers because it doesn't leave your phone. For a product people use in the most private part of their lives, anything else would be indefensible. The details are in our Privacy Policy.

Say what's true. Recovery timelines vary. Some weeks feel like going backwards. We'd rather give you a realistic map than an inspiring one, because a man who expects the flatline doesn't quit when he hits it.

Who writes this

Relustt is a small independent project, not a clinic and not a medical provider. The writing on this blog draws on published research into habit formation and compulsive behaviour, on the lived experience of men in recovery, and on what the people building the app have seen work and fail.

We are not doctors, and nothing here is medical advice. Where an article touches on physical symptoms — erectile difficulties in particular — we say plainly that physical causes are real, common, and treatable, and that a doctor is the right person to rule them out. An article on the internet is not a diagnosis.

How the blog is written
